Following recruitments in the last few months, we’re pleased to welcome the following people to our team. Beryl Simba and Julia Inés Roitman join us on the board as appointed directors, and Piliah Bonareri and Ben Plimmer join our core team as volunteers.
Beryl Simba
Appointed director, finance
Beryl is an executive with over 15 years’ experience in leadership and risk management in financial services in Africa. Based in Nairobi, Kenya, she holds a Masters degree in Strategic Management and is a Certified Public Accountant. She has financed multiple infrastructure projects. Beryl is a passionate social change agent and is motivated by empowering communities.

Julia Inés Roitman
Appointed director, legal
Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Julia Inés Roitman Gil is a lawyer specialised in Public International Law and a graduate of the Universidad de Buenos Aires. As a human rights activist, Julia’s work has centred on sexual and reproductive rights, youth participation in decision-making and transitional justice.

Piliah Bonareri Mogeni
Member support volunteer
Piliah is a mechanical engineering student in the Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture and Technology, Kenya. She is passionate about bringing positive change to her surroundings through engineering. As the member support volunteer she’s excited to build good relationships with member associations and create meaningful connections. During her free time she enjoys reading novels and going on hikes.

Ben Plimmer
Partnerships Ambassador
Ben studied at the University of Sheffield, United Kingdom and completed a four-year integrated master’s degree in Systems and Control Engineering. He has experience from manufacturing internships in civil aerospace and nuclear sectors undertaken during his time at university. Since graduating Ben has worked as a program manager on Submarine Cable Projects, most notably 2Africa, which has a total length of over 45,000km. Ben will be helping us to build our donor pipeline.
